We cover Mid & North Essex, although we may be able to travel further for fleet vehicles.
What is a mobile mechanic?
Essentially, a mobile mechanic brings the garage to you. They drive their van to your house or place of work – to then carry out any repairs or service your vehicle.
With around 32 million cars on UK roads – and the motor repair and service industry having an estimated value of over £28 billion – many Brits are in need of help with their vehicle in order to remain road safe and legal.
What does a mobile mechanic do?
A mobile mechanic can do most of the repairs and servicing you’ll need on your vehicle – all with the benefit of driving to a place of your choosing.
Operating out of a van, rather than a garage, they can transport most of the necessary tools to carry out work on a vehicle to get it back in good working condition.
In many cases, they can do all the work you’d expect at a garage, including common fixes, interior maintenance, coolant checks, oil changes, air filter modifications, battery replacements, and brake pad/disc work.
Just like a normal garage, all the mechanic will need are your vehicle keys and a time slot to work with. And with no other cars to work on – there’s no waiting around to see what the problem is and what’s needed to get it back on the road.
How can I schedule an appointment?
Making an appointment is very easy! You can call, e-mail or message through Facebook to make an appointment, make sure to include your postcode, vehicle registration and service required.
Do you offer warranty or guarantee?
Yes, all parts and labour comes with a 12 month warranty for your piece of mind.
I've got the parts, can you fit them?
ONLY parts supplied by Colchester Mobile Mechanic will be fitted to your vehicle. Under NO CIRCUMSTANCES will we entertain fitting customer supplied or second hand parts as this would invalidate our Public Liability Insurance.
Do you offer credit?
Payment is due immediately upon completion of any work carried out. All parts remain property of Colchester Mobile Mechanic until the invoice is settled IN FULL. We do not offer credit or any kind of flexible payment options. Payment terms are “No payment, no keys, no exceptions.” Please ensure you have sufficient funds before booking.
On occasion, special order parts totalling more than £300 will need to be paid for in advance.
Do you do warranty or insurance work?
We do not undertake any works that require payment at a later date by a third party, I.E. Warranty/Insurance companies. As set out above, all work must be paid for on completion, in full. In the event of carrying out repairs to be paid for by such an entity, payment must be completed by the customer upon completion and then claimed back where possible from said entity.
Your booking?
Your booking will have a dedicated amount of time to carry out work stated upon booking. If you require additional work, please contact me in advance and where possible we will try to accommodate. “While you have your tools out…” and “While you’re here, can you just…” type additions will unfortunately not be entertained without a prior booking.
Due to demand, it’s not always possible to give you an exact time of arrival. Slots will be given on an AM/PM basis, and our technicians will give you as much notice as possible for their arrival time.
In the event that your vehicle is not at the address given for works to be undertaken, a period of 15 minutes will be allowed for the vehicle to be returned for works to be carried out. Outside of this 15 minute window, you will be sent an invoice for the full call out fee.
Can I move my appointment?
Whilst every effort is made to fit in and around your schedule, unfortunately, we can take no responsibility for other appointments, school runs, errands etc for which you may require your vehicle. Please keep in mind when booking that your vehicle is booked in, and in some instances, working to time constraints is not always possible and as such, have alternative arrangements in place. If for any reason you do need to change your booking, please let us know so we can move you to a different slot that suits.
Please be aware, persistent moving of appointments will result in a deposit of £60 being required to secure your booking on the third occasion.
